what makes #AppleWatch different
Apple Watch has the distinctive hardware in place (battery power, microprocessor chip,,,,) that makes the watch more powerful than any other smart watch available in the market now. However I feel samsung will copy cat & will try to come up with another sub-par hardware.
I guess real distinctive things are its 1. Design 2. Pricing strategy & 3. Developers
Design: Let it be Apple Watch Sport or Apple Watch or Apple Watch Sport, I guess Its self explanatory ... here are some clicks for your ref. more in here http://www.apple.com/watch/gallery/#apple-watch-edition-18-karat-yellow-gold-case-bright-red-modern-buckle
Price: Pricing games are very important to Apple, here are some ref. notes from Behaviorial economist Richard Thale
“Apple has played this game with itself by launching products such as the iPhone at artificially high reference prices - the iPhone cost $599 when it first hit the streets - and then rapidly lowering that price. Today, a $199 iPhone seems like a steal; Apple in essence is using its first-iteration pricing as a reference to make its current products feel affordable. You may be on the fence for a $499 iPad, but if it drops to $399 by Christmas, won't you feel better?”
I guess they will do the same with Apple Watch too...
Developers: Apple’s relation with developers is incredible & its great when compared to total sum of Google, Amazon, Pebble, samsung,,,,
As you can see that most of essentials apps are already available in Watch/AppStore market - Twitter, Evernote, instagram, espn, nytime, openTable,,,, full list in here http://www.apple.com/watch/app-store-apps/
with some of my favorite apps are in WIP phase for Apple Watch like Feedly https://medium.com/feedly-behind-the-curtain/an-exploration-with-apple-watch-by-feedly-9a2e91deba1f
Being a biz guy for mobile games & apps the number of apps or games development scope I have come across for any other smart watch is NONE. Whereas I’ve been getting into discussions of at-least 1+ Apple watch game development scope or ideas for the last couple of weeks.
As a fellow game evangelist, Im really looking forward to the success of this new tech piece from Apple, cheers. Please post your comments below
