First of all I imagine Nai HAS to have his evil coat. It feels only right. And yes!! That’s my first draft sketch for Roberto! I’m working on a Milly one, too because Milly <3 (but aaaa I’m glad you like the little smiley because you inspired it hehe)
And yeah!! I figure plants are, in fact, a lot like crystal ponies! :D and of course the independents are special. I feel like, staying true to the canon, the independents would still look very pony-like, whereas the others are much bigger and alien-like. I chose Pegasi for the twins because of the angel symbolism (I can’t help myself) but I imagine it’s possible for them to be unicorns or earth ponies. And that’s also how Knives can have all his knives because like special magic go brrr (and yeah I did take a bit of inspo from Sombra, I just wanted him to appear very tall and lanky like Celestia, if that makes sense? To evoke that same intimidating elegance he has)
