had an idea for my Kirby au and decided to make a doodle for it
magolor probably doesn't actually do anything in this episode but this is my au so I'm saying that one episode specifically has meta knight punch the REAL jk rowling and not just a monster copy

showing off my anime Magolor AU!! I've finally decided on the name Appleference because I love stupid puns
The AU was actually based on the one song for Ashley in Warioware (Warioware is not one of my fandoms but the song is good). I really liked it, and when I like something musical my brain tries to pair it up with a character, pre existing or otherwise. Somehow my brain landed on "Magolor in the anime living in a treehouese." This cat still hasn't left my brain so I drew him weeks ago and have been stalling on posting him.
This AU originates several months before the events of the anime. Due to NME's teleportation service, after Magolor epilogue, before he goes to the clash universe he's instead dragged to the anime one. Upon realizing he's in a new universe he knows absolutely nothing about, he goes on the search for a safe planet before coming across one that looks oddly similar to Popstar. A bit of asking around would confirm this was a parallel universe.
Magolor decides to settle in Dreamland, due to how safe it was in his native universe. After noticing Cappy Town, he sets up off the edge of Whispy's Woods and plants his Gem Apple Tree there, before building a tree house to stay in.
He goes into town every Sunday to sell magical goods and wares, as well as offensive and defensive tools, and though most Cappies don't know much of anything about him, Tuggle mentions that he does sometimes stop at his store for groceries.
Due to how nobody seems to know anyone about this guy who can do active magic, much more intense magic than Mable's fortune telling, he's got plenty of rumors going around (particularly among Iro, Spikehead, Honey, and any other kids, though the adults are not afraid to gossip about him either).
I had a lot of design ideas for Magolor. I decided to switch up his blood color last minute, half because I like giving the nonhuman characters fun blood colors and half because it might make the scars more likely to be accepted by whatever censor system there is.
As much as I like designs with a lot on them, one thing I tried to do is make his design less complex. This was because he would hypothetically have to be 2-D animated. I asked my friend with more experience what on him would suck to animate, and he lost his cape and gears. I also remember hating to have to remember that his ear lines are seperate, so I removed that.
I imagine if Yamikage got multiple episodes, Magolor would be in a majority. That's actually my plotline with this au other than the one the anime already has even though I don't have ideas for it yet-
I mostly just want to play with the idea of the two traitors, one of which wants to repent and the other who will not :)
thank you for paying attention to my silly I will post about him again (I already have art for it)
Magolor lives off the edge of Whispy's Woods in a towering Gem Apple tree (I fully believe that if it did gain a face like the trees do in the first whispy episode before they get cut down, the gem apple tree would have a single eye). The Gem Apples are not drawn to scale but I didn't want to fix it so I didn't
Magolor's house is intentionally designed without ladders due to his ability to float. This also serves as both a way to show Kirby's ability to float and an obstacle for any character who lacks his help (usually Dedede and co, but sometimes Tiff and Tuff as well when Kirby's not around). It is possible, however, to climb the gold that spirals up the tree.
And here's the inside! I tried to make it pretty detailed so the hypothetical animators know what they're doing.
I tried to theme the furniture off the Lor, since Magolor is likely pretty homesick. I decided Magolor's house should face east, and then made his windows face east and west in his room so he gets extra sun during both sunrise and sunset (gotta give the kitty some joy after cursing him to suffer intense guilt).
The back counter on the first floor is for producing more stuff to sell, particularly potions. The shelf across from his bed is not until a lot after meeting him (due to the no ladders stuff, and clever camera angles if the camera does follow Magolor to get everything BUT the shelf in frame)

Kirby gets along quite well with Magolor. He's very friendly! And soft! Magolor helps Kirby a multitude of times. He's willing to step in on battles if it becomes clear Kirby is in serious danger (which, is a lot more common than Magolor remembers). Either way, Magolor does truly care for Kirby, having a tendency to prioritize his safety when necessary and even giving him free things from his shop if needed, like potions! It seems like he'd do anything to keep the puffball safe...
Tiff and Magolor would not initially get along, however their shared desire to protect Kirby would allow them to bond. Magolor is a bit intense for Tiff's liking, but does tend to validate her issues with the throne and he's less mysterious than Meta Knight when it comes to Kirby and his foes (if only he knew as much about the demon beasts...), though he's not exactly one to share much about his past. He's also willing to go along with most plans she presents and help out, which is certainly useful since he seems to be really good at lying to Dedede's staff and the cappies (if Tiff was being honest, tricking particularly the former was no great feat, but Magolor speaks in a way that she's sure could trick more people).
If anything, what keeps Tiff suspicious of Magolor are his odd, and sometimes illegal or immoral schemes suggested (which, to be fair, she had her own fair share of treason by helping Kirby in the first place, but that was different) as well as his skills to carry out those feats (she appreciated him for offering to steal things like Dedede's tank so he couldn't attack Kirby, but how does he even know how to do that??).
Tuff would be even more suspicious than Tiff at first, believing what he'd heard from the fellow children of Cappy Town and worrying Magolor would be a danger to Kirby. However, further time spent with Magolor would show that he's not that bad. If anything, Tuff just wishes Magolor would help with more schemes without Kirby (since he's really good at pulling it off!).
Dedede finds Magolor a weirdo and a problem. The alien helps Kirby any chance he gets, and openly HATES Dedede, screwing over his plan whenever he gets! If anything, Dedede would prefer if Magolor packed his bags and never came back. It'd make his job WAY easier. Yet somehow, he keeps believing that stupid cat...
Meta Knight... respects Magolor as a co worker. He supposes. Magolor DID help him realize he was not taking his duties seriously enough, because while he's glad Magolor is so keen on helping Kirby... if he did not keep coming up with ridiculous plans, Kirby may not be thrust into situations he cannot handle. If anything, Meta Knight is at least glad Tiff usually is able to tell the sheer absurdity of some of the cat's ideas and call them off before any major issues can occur. Though, Meta Knight is mildly disturbed by just how much the alien seems to know without Meta Knight having any memory of him... Because of that, Meta Knight has been trying to store as much information on Magolor as possible. Most interesting is his averse reaction to Yamikage and his past. For now, he assumes Magolor has also tasted the sting of betrayal, but Meta Knight does hope to figure out more about it (and if that even is the case).
Yamikage finds Magolor to an issue. More so than those children who are dedicated to helping out Kirby. He tends to know more than he should about any monster he brings, and keeps using magic whenever that pink puff is any real danger to end a fight. The worst part is with time, Magolor only seems to target Yamikage more. Either way, Yamikage wants to get rid of Magolor as soon as possible, though he doesn't tend to go too far out of his way for it.
(I really want to do more with Yamikage for the fic but I'm still gathering ideas for plots!! The contrast will be fun :) )
I don't have a doodle for this one, but I also feel like Tokkori would be terrified of Magolor because he's a cat and Magolor would absolutely take advantage of that whenever he tries to mess with Kirby.
