Every morning I pass by this house on my way to work. I never even noticed it until I started to think about the theme of inspiration. I always let life experiences inspire my work. It’s something that is quite subconscious for me. The flow of inspiration shouldn’t be laborious, it should be natural and not forced. What I wonder about is this; how much of the inspiration that happens in our lives is actually subconsciously influencing us on a day-to-day basis? And how much of that plays into our work? Ansel Adams phrased it beautifully - “You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
