Quick update and news
Hi folks, Iām so sorry for not getting a 15th Tag out today and for not writing out some kind of prior warning! Yāknow, on top of not being active these last few months! The tag will resume next month with a festive theme of some sort.
Although my focus has been elsewhere, I have read about Peter Jacksonās plan to film the Tintin sequel in 2019 off various sources these last few weeks. TheĀ Prisoners of the SunĀ adaptation still seems to be on the cards despite what Jackson was saying about choosing a different story. Iām remaining cautiously optimistic until we have a confirmed press release of some sort.
Iāve also read about a new French publication,Ā Les femmes dans le monde de Tintin / Women in the world of Tintin. Itās written by Renaud Nattiez, who has also published 2 other books about the series, and analyses the women who inhabit the seriesā canon and their real life counterparts who inspired HergĆ©. BDzoom have a review about it hereĀ and itās certainly a book I wouldnāt mind picking up one day.
In other news, Tintinās first home,Ā Le PetitĀ VingtiĆØme was first published on the 1st November 1928 by right wing newspaperĀ Le VingtiĆØme SiĆØcle. If it hadnāt ceased publication with LVSĀ in May 1940 when the Germans began occupying Belgium, LPV mightāve celebrated its 90th anniversary this month.
Also, new Tintin homeware has reached digital shelves at official Tintin retailers (i.e. Londonās Tintin Shop, Edinburghās Paper Tiger, onlineās Tintin Boutique). Towels, bathrobes, single duvet sets, blankets and one or two t-shirts are now available for purchase. Iāll sneak the teal Snowy blanket on my Christmas list.Ā
Thatās all for now and thanks for bearing with me and my inactivity. I may well have missed some other news or anniversaries during my absence, so please feel free to comment or reblog with your own updates! It would be greatly appreciated!Ā
