You're unusually consistently thoughtful when you post takes. More than your takes just being Good and Nuanced they also always visibly have thought put in to them instead of just uncritically repeating things other people have said.
Very good and varied taste in media and you're very passionate when you post about things you enjoy.
And also this is shallow but your avatar is rlly cute

Sir Almeric Lionel DeVayne is a very handsome young man originally sent to the imperial court with at least half an eye to finding an advantageous marriage. He's also very, very, very good at gutting people with a pigsticker, to the point of finding gainful employment for several years as different nobles' champion of honor.
The combination of these two facts is - you know the meme about 'if he writes you one sonnet, he loves you ; if he writes you sixteen sonnets, he loves writing sonnets'? Almeric is that, but for valiantly challenging people to duels to defend the honor of eligible women he was seen in the company of.
It is perhaps unsurprising that he has been both knighted as one of the Queen-Empress' bodyguards and champions and 'honored' with a job guarding an ambassador traveling to the ass-end of creation for a year or two.
My motivations and drives ~6 years ago are an impenetrable enigma but I'm reasonably sure it was 'giant pinboard of art I want to use for references in tabletop rpg campaigns at some point'
8. any reacquiring dreams?
Basically never remember any of mine, and the ones I do are just embarrassingly transparent stress fantasies of whatever's most on my mind. When I was younger I remember having drowning ones a lot?
18. do you believe in ghosts and/or aliens?
Ghosts no aliens yes but in the 'I hope that we discover bacteria under the ice on Europa' sort of way.
re: over-/underhyped β any two paradox games of your choice? or any two Canadian cities of your choice if that is me unknowingly kicking a hornet's nest lol
Overrated: Hearts of Iron - the '30s-'50s are an immensely interesting period. Sadly tactical-operational warmaking is the least interesting part of it by far, as seen by the fact that the best mods strain and struggle against the engine and basic gameplay loop to deliver interesting political-diplomatic experiences. Also there are (obviously) a lot of nazis in the fanbase but there's an even more perplexing number of, like, right-liberal apologists for the British Empire.
Underrated: I'm reliably informed that Imperator is good now but I've still never played it. CK is great but hardly underhyped. EU's curent iteration is so bloated by DLC that you can barely see the original game under all the bloat. In any other studio Stellaris is basically the third game in a series still pretending to wear its predecessors skin, and also not underhyped I don't think (could be wrong, though?). So of the mainline games I guess it's Victoria by default? Deeply underrated outlet of marxian propaganda to a demographic unlikely to otherwise be reached by it.
oh also what's the best way to ig get into your stories here? just /chrono a setting tag or?
Great question/reminder I really need to re-write my pinned sooner rather than later.
Anyway most of them are just random snippets written on the basis of whatever bit of inspiration I could grab at at the time, so just picking a tag and going chronologically is as good as anything!
There are a few coherent series that I did start organizing/making indexes for at a certain point which can hopefully be read as units without any other context to make sense of.
Political timelines for the three great powers of Abhari
The Four Apostles - set of four actual short stories for Shadows
A Faction Index - that is, introduction to each power and sponsor send out a ship that will get dragged into the Plot - for Whalefall
And sets that I should have nice indices but don't.
a set of character voice exercises for what will aspirationally be the POVs/main cast of the actual story of Whalefall.
a triptych of short stories about people getting recruited by one conspiracy or another I will probably finally revise/polish and put up on Ao3 sometime this fall
The first two chapters of a fantasy set in Abhari I do aspire to go back and continue some day
And an actually complete travelogue/guide to the five great Free Cities and their politics from a totally objective and unbiased traveller.

I am merely floating in a dingy trembling in the wake of the shadows swimming beneath.
But no just, bizarre amount of, like, stereotypical fandom blorboing and viciously defending the honor of your fave by proving that they're totally in the right and the other guy is a monster for a show where everyone is a parasitic feudal aristocrat bringing ruin to the land because they can't get over their own entitlement and family drama (and, like, this is clearly the major theme of the work).
also a deeply surprising amount of reader-insert porn with wannabe elric of melnibone
It's taken me nearly two weeks (sorry!! XD) but here we go! I was tagged by @apollo-cackling to press Shuffle on my listening playlist and list the first ten songs.
I had to think about what playlist to use for this, since there could be a few, but decided to go with my Recently Played playlist on Windows Media Player, which is my go-to for listening to something on my laptop (and is more up-to-date than some other playlists I might dip into).
1. Fear For the Storm (Full Cast Version) - this doesn't have just one artist credit, so I'm going to copy the whole thing from Bandcamp: Vocals by Cindy Chu, Ishani Kanetkar, Jamie Price, and Brittony LeFever. Mixed by Erin S. Lyrics and chords by Jessica Best, arrangement by Jamie Price. I wrote a whole fic recently having feelings about this song, so I'll let that stand in for any commentary XD
2. Y (BS Style) - ND Lee: we are going to get some niche ones on here because I recently went through a whole spate of listening to DJMAX music, heh. This is a song from the rhythm game franchise DJMAX, and it's a lot of fun.
3. White Flag - Dido: I can't remember why but Dido's name popped up somewhere and I felt nostalgic and listened to this. It's still really fun to sing along to (it's squarely in my singing range and has some bits that you can really belt out. "AND YOU WILL THINK... THAT I'VE MOVED OOOOOOOOOON-")
4. Keys to the World (Extended Version) - Planetboom: Another DJMAX song that's been stuck in my head a lot lately, so I've been hammering it on repeat. I like the lyrics!
5. Rocket Science - Tin Can Audio: This is the Starship Iris end credits song from season 1 episode 10 onwards. It still gives me season 1 finale feelings π
6. A Normal Life - Marianas Trench: Still REALLY OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG and the lyric video for it. I actually wrote a fic about this one, too!
7. Head & Heart - Joel Corry feat. MNEK: Just a pop song that I enjoy!
8. Wings of Time - Tame Impala: Ah, D&D: HAT. Speaking of end credits music: this is the credits music for Honor Among Thieves, and I still love it!
10. my ex's best friend - Machine Gun Kelly: This is one of the songs on the playlist for an origfic I wrote recently, whichhhh I will be posting some more about in a little while, but π€ for now! And it's a good fun song with some excellent guitar.
