This is a juggling video I made with a friend about 11 years ago. We spent an afternoon making up a juggling routine and then filming enough takes of it to make it look like those tricks were not about on the edge of how hard of a routine we could pull off. A lot of effort was put into making it it look effortless. I mean, we were having fun, that part wasn’t faked for the camera, but there were quite a few takes of clubs being dropped and us bumping into each other that you don’t get to see here. Then I spent several days learning to use some video editing program that I don’t even remember the name of now to edit the cut together and to make it look in sync with the song we’d picked in advance (One of a Kind by Apollo 440). I remember that I even used some DJ-program to loop one bar of the song’s intro to make the ~6 seconds needed to sync up with our juggling. As with most art, (and this is art even if I didn’t think of it as such at the time), while we were making it we put a lot of care into it and worked really hard to get it to be as good as we possibly could and then we put it out to a largely indifferent and unimpressed Internet. Now more than a decade later it has 41 likes on YouTube, many of them from our friends and family. That’s sort of ok, because we really didn’t expect anyone else to really care. But since what gets spread a lot on the net is a large part random chance, and I’m still really happy with this video I’m going to re-post it here now in 2020. So please like it, comment on it and/or share it on so it can get a second chance to make someone else’s day a bit brighter!
