IDEATE: This process of the research was very helpful and fun. I was able to get a lot of great ideas in this brainstorming session ⛈it also has allowed me to see how the abstract of hope can be represented in a lot of different and creative ways other than just a boring research paper 🙇🏽📄instead my group assisted me in seeing the multiple ways hope can be showcased for my claim around hope. I came to the conclusion that for a Proto type of my resarch I would make a comic book strip on how hope can be used during a difficult time in our lives. I also see this being very useful to my audience and helping them understand the concept of hope

The ideas written down for me to do fall under the categories of art and interviewing. Mostly all of the suggestions were broad and standard ideas, but since I love art I feel into the idea of drawing or painting something, so I pursued of that idea.

These are the different ideas I had to sift through (the ones that were possible because the others were NOT) and in the end, “talk to people who know people who died (interview)” is what I went with 

These were the ideas generated by my group as to what my final project should be. My abstract topic is family relationships and I plan on narrowing my topic to how these relationships affect a child’s development. I was given the idea to interview a child growing up with a “normal” family vs. a child growing up in a “broken” family. Which is possible and probably the easiest option. Other ideas were paintings and diagrams, which is sort of harder because I am not the best a drawing. So as of right now, I believe I am going to take the path of interview  families and forming the interviews into a short film. 

At first we were confused as to what the heck does our Gentle Instructor wants us to do but then after some minutes, we kinda got the idea. We first started off by rotating our claims and each person would come up with an idea for the one they got. Then we posted each claim on the wall and brainstormed ideas for it. For each idea, we talked about the pros and cons, and why/if/how it would be effective. I have to say, at the end of this activity, Nick, Neha, and myself had a pretty solid idea of what we want to do next.

I wasn’t really here for the ideation process, but I still got some feedback from the people around me. Bridget told me to make a picture book to represent my claim, which is that the acceptance of death allows one to live a happier life. I really liked the process because I was really lost before Bridget saved me with her idea, the process gave me useful feedback that I could use to continue with the project.  I didn’t generate too many ideas but it doesn’t matter as long as I have one good one that I can move forward with.

My claim is: people everywhere around the world and in every time period have been and are being suppressed and alienated because of gender, class, race, creed, and/or medical conditions. My group came up with a few ideas. Some were really hard to work with. In the end, I chose to do a video/interview with people who have been alienated in the world. But after I talked with people who were in other groups, we brainstormed new and better ideas for my abstract topic.

I like the idea of doing a short movie, and obviously it would work with my audience because they both suggested it. However, I wish I could've gotten more feedback to have even more ideas. This could work with like people going around the room and having to place 5 ideas on other people's thesis, so it's open to everyone. Pinto and Bri still did good feedback though, and it helped confirm my idea of wanting to do a video.
