17: rain kiss
{ - ⁂ - } Damn it all. At this rate, she was definitely going to get a cold. She could practically taste the grotesque medicine that awaited her as her throat began to feel a bit scratchy, a soft cough escaping thin lips as she marched along the sidewalk beside her friend to head for the market. Thankfully he was smart enough to bring an umbrella that easily shielded them both from the rain, however, she had hardly dressed for the harsh weather they were currently pushing through. Unlike him, who was almost always dressed appropriately for cold climates, she adorned a simple blouse and skirt as she hadn’t been expecting the weather to take such a drastic turn from the bright and sunny condition it was in just a little while ago despite the warning they had heard on TV, stating that the chances of the weather freezing up were high.
When a particularly cold gust of wind hit her, she shivered, wrapping both of her arms tightly around one of his own in search of warmth, clinging to his side much like a child would. Realizing her own actions, she blinked up to him with a small frown, eyes widening as she took note of the smirk playing at his lips, drawing a loud huff from the petite girl before she released her grip. He had tried in vain to get her to dress in something a little warmer before they left and she swore if he could say 'I told you so' right now, he would. Stopping abruptly, Violet crossed her arms over her chest, stubbornly getting drenched in the rain for a few brief moments as he continued on until he realized she was no longer by his side. As he approached her to hold the umbrella out over her head once more, she suddenly raised herself up on her tiptoes, grabbing a handful of his necktie to tug him down to her height before connecting their lips together, only to pull apart seconds later, cheeks flushed a deep scarlet, but a smile gracing her features. "There! Now you're going to get sick too!"
