August 13, 2025 - Maasai Apalis (Apalis stronachi) Found in northern Tanzania and southwestern Kenya, these birds in the cisticola family live in shrublands, often near water. Foraging in pairs and small flocks, they are thought to eat mostly insects, though the details of their diet are not known. While little is known about their breeding behavior, pairs with fledged chicks were seen in Tanzania in July.
