Presentation at the 81st Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management
Another year in with the ongoing pandemic, I am glad that the 81st Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management was held online once again. I must say they have improved the virtual experience this year with the recording of most sessions. This meant that I did not have to stay up past midnight to join in workshops and paper presentations, plus I could review some sessions that were scheduled in parallel.Â
My research paper co-authored with Riyang and Eugene on CEO moral foundations and corporate ESG performance was accepted for presentation at the Organization and the Natural Environment division. We had a total of 27 participants in our paper session and we received useful suggestions on how we can take this paper forward. A big thank you to all who attended and expressed your interest in our paper!
While I do miss the traveling and having fun meeting with colleagues around the world, I am hoping that the 2022 AOM conference will be held in a hybrid version with the option of joining in virtually or in-person. The carbon emissions from flying people around the world is very costly given the climate crisis we are in - plus all the benefits of reduced financial costs, ability to review parallel sessions, and the improved access to the academic community for non-US scholars.
Fingers crossed till then!
