[tbh I feel like most people are intimidated by each other bc they can’t see the charm in their own writing— even though more interaction helps perfect what you’re already capable of. people need to start crediting themselvesmore, musing isn’t easy-
I completely agree. It's easier said than done, though. We are our own worst critic, and it's something that all artists suffer, from art to writing, and even performing. And musing sure isn't. But that's another thing all of us have in common is the fact that we all do it.
I'm just really surprised when people admit the fact they're afraid to approach me when I make it very clear (so I think anyway) that I'm a huge dork. Have you read any of my OOC posts? like forreal. I have a hard time approaching people ICly sometimes even though I really want to, because my muse isn't exactly the most sociable, and a bit of an asshole (read complete asshole, but ya know. He has some redeeming qualities okay). So maybe that's part of it. I don't know.
But again, I really think you have a solid point, and I do think people should be a little more confident. Find something they like about their own style and uplift it. It's not always easy, that's for sure.
