🌸 How did your character grow up? What was their childhood like?

Antler's parents, Redstem and Hollyfoot, were very average warriors. Both content to be in the background keeping the clan running rather than vying for Deputy or chasing some great ambition. Antler enjoyed a rather peaceful childhood. He was allowed to just be a kid, unlike the generations that would follow, and that forged a very solid foundation for him, one that resulted in the kind, humorous, proud cat he is today. That is, until Redstem has an accident during a hunting patrol when Antlerpaw is 12 moons old- a squirrel he was chasing up a tree turned around and fought back- scratching and biting, shocking him enough to throw the warrior off his balance and send him plummeting to the ground below. Redstem died a quick and rather painless death in the end, snapping his neck from the way he fell and dying in an instant.

Strangely enough- Hollyfoot mourned... but seemed less like she was grieving and more like she felt guilty? The answer as to why would come in the next few weeks when she revealed to the clan that she was pregnant, and they were clearly not Redstem's kits when they were born. Hollyfoot claimed they had a rogue sire, which is fine, but what made this such a scandal is the fact that for the timeline to line up, she would've had to have gotten pregnant while Redstem was still alive. Antlerpaw felt incredibly betrayed and knew his father would've too, but nonetheless he decided he would be there for his half siblings no matter what.

Antlerpaw was not alone through this time in the slightest, he had many friends! As a young apprentice, Bearkit was taken in by the clan, and the big kit took to shadowing Antlerpaw who he admired, they became fast friends. Then there was Forestpaw, Troutpaw, Bumblepaw, many others of their generation, and of course, his two closest friends, Slatepaw and Pineconepaw.

After they were made warriors, the trio (now known as Antlerblaze, Slatefall, and Pineconeclaw) made a shocking discovery. Hollyfoot took his half-siblings out to the CanyonClan border in the middle of the night shortly after they became 'paws, and Pineconeclaw followed them, suspicious as to what the hell this was... it turned out that Hollyfoot was introducing them to their father. A CanyonClan warrior named Eaglethorn. They kept the secret to protect his half-siblings from that half clan stigma- until Rootpaw was carried off by an eagle while out with his mother. This is when Antlerblaze revealed the truth or the affair, believing it was a punishment from StarClan for Hollyfoot's codebreaking. It was an eagle that took him after all... Hollyfoot ended up being exiled and was never seen again and Brackenpaw ended up taking on her late-brother's prefix as her warrior name in honor of him, becoming Brackenroot.

That's about the end of his childhood and adolescence- I may have gone a little too in depth there but hey! I love this big man!

💥 Does your character have any habits that impact them negatively?

🌲 Who I ship them with: PinkNettleRocky but aside from that, including just something I think would be cute or fun to see would be PinkSquall lol

🌈 What I want to see: I think Whisper should forgive himself. That's the most important step of acceptance/repentance for the past. I think he deserves to say that he did what he did but that was then and he has changed and that he can leave that in the past. Honestly want this for all of Canyon's "sad old people"

✨️ Initial impression: SQUARE WOMAN. I love her sorta "fuck around and find out" attitude and the fact that she's overall very open. At least in comparison to other Canyon cats lol. Also her and Lilac,,,

☘️ Dynamics with potential: JAYPAW JAYPAW JAYPAW JAYPAW. Big eared baby boy beloved- I love how stoic and closed off she is with practically everyone other than her boy... I can't wait to see how he develops under her wing.

Antlerblaze

☁️ Alternative clan: oh goodness... hmmm that's tough. He's incredibly tailored to fit AspenClan and then BriarClan- honestly I can't picture him as a CanyonClan cat, not because I don't think his personality would fit I think he might actually vibe super well- but just.... Antlerblaze as a Canyon cat is just so inherently odd and hard to imagine. So that would mean he'd be in Creek... and the only way I can see him defecting to join CreekClan is if he led his clan into a battle and made a horrible decision that he shouldn't have made that led to the death of Flare and Pinecone. That would just... break him. His family is everything to him, it's why I refer to them in like, a bunch of stuff as Ride or Die... because all 3 of them are like that and if he lost them he'd be so lost.
