I’ll bully you, but only bc Santa Clause universe is insane and thinking abt it makes me lose it. Why does killing Santa make u the new Santa. Tim Allen has no remorse over it. The elves don’t care that he murdered their boss. Why do they let him go back to his old life for a year if he needs to be Santa ASAP. Why does Santa need a wife and heir if the job is passed on thru death. Do u rly want to put Miles thru all of this. Do u want him to commit Santaslaughter (Santa manslaughter)
I tried to answer as many of these questions as possible in my AU but honestly We Just Don't KNOW. If it helps, the last Santa was Blaise and he was total shit and the elves are a lot happier with Miles in charge
Here's a thought: what if when PD left Spinel in the garden, she didn't expect her to stay? What if she thought Spinel would grow tired of waiting and leave on her own? PD frequently didn't realize the effect she had on others, due to the Diamonds' abuse and neglect. So she assumed Spinel wouldn't listen and eventually come look for her. But PD never heard from her. At first she was relieved, then slowly grew worried, but was too ashamed to go back for Spinel and admit that she abandoned her.
In the moment, Pink is really self conscious about the image others have of her. And she wants to change it and conform her peer’s expectations because she’s a Diamond and she has to act like it. And so... We see her growing embarrassed of Spinel.
She wants to distance herself from that as soon as possible. I think I’ve been in this situation and... you don’t think about other possibilities since the goal is so clear in your mind - it is not an excuse, definitely not okay, but I can understand.
Maybe years later she probably pondered about what she did that day? And maybe she regretted it even, I can see it, but in her mind there is no coming back. It remains as an embarrassing memory - that pops up from time to time and you want to forget the moment you remember it - from a time you were dumb and you thought pleasing your abusive overlord relatives was what you needed.
It wouldn’t be an active thought per se, but it’s very likely that she indeed didn’t expect or was worried about Spinel literally standing in one place for thousands of years, simply because it’s not a thing she would do: She’s a being moved by immediate interest and doesn’t work well with long-term objectives.
It’s not a big thing in her mind, though. She had a myriad of things to entertain her thoughts, specially after leaving Homeworld, and she wanted to forget everything that happened before and start a new page. So there is no angst on her part.

I am so sorry that you’re sick. I know from much experience that being super sick and depressed is very hard. I recommend listening to music or podcasts, play video games, and watch things that make you happy and laugh. Laughter really is the best medicine. I hope you recover as fast as possible. You will get through this. You will get better. Just hang on, and watch McElroy content.
