as automation progresses and menial jobs are replaced with robotic workers, what happens to those who depend on those positions? what happens to the parents with low income who have children to house and feed? what happens when the children grow up and need education, and further education, through degrees and masters' and ph.ds, to be considered for the next unautomated role? what happens when the system chokes itself out, clogged with the greed of those who know that you don't have to pay what isn't alive? and when will it happen? a hundred years from now? fifty? thirty? twenty? ten? is it already happening? when will we do something about it? when fast food is a computer's job, and teens/young adults have no options? when deliveries are handled by The Network, and truckies are SOL? when algorithmic decision machines replace accountants? when a CEO is just one person who pushes a button and turns their machine business on in the morning? when, in this world of digitalised autonomy replacing the labour of the working class, will we realise that working to survive isn't sustainable anymore?
