Anti-Anon-Hate program
Is a friend of yours getting harassed? Someone you follow getting hate mail? A moot getting threats?
This can be incredibly frustrating to experience and saddening to watch, even if they're handling things with grace and stability. If you feel a little helpless, I have a solution for you!
Introducing AAH! Short for Anti-Anon-Hate or Anon-Anti-Hate (whichever you prefer), this simple strategy can help lift the people around you and remind them that they have allies who care about them.
It's pretty simple. Just take your anon hate message...
Example: 'nobody cares about you'
and turn it around! For example, the above message would be changed to
'Lots of people care about you!'
It's best to end with a sign-off of some sort so that the receiver knows you're a different person. I, personally, like to sign off with something regarding AAH!
I know what it feels like to watch your friends, your mutuals, your followers and follow-ees get harassed, berated, threatened, accused of various things by anons. I know what it's like to want to help but not know how. I'm hoping that this is something that we can do to help each other out and make the internet a bit of a nicer place to be.
You can also send anon love with an AAH! signature even if the receiver isn't dealing with anon hate.
