Imagine two adults in a relationship.
one has absolute legal power over the over one, they control their living situation, education, internet access, finances, social life to some degree, appearance, what/when they eat, they are allowed to hit them if they so please, if the victims tries to leave they are supposed to be dragged back to the relationship by the police.
and to top it all off, this whole time everyone around the couple agrees that the abuser is in the right because they know best, and treats any objections the victim has as typical brattyness.
Oh, except the abuser is a parent and the victim is their child.
