Questionable Content and A.I.s
Ok, if you’re not up on the webcomic Questionable Content you may want to skip this as I’m going to be covering a lot of points without going into the background info.
In the latest strip (#4308) Bubbles makes the following comment about May’s body:
But that raises some questions when contrasted with this moment from an earlier strip (#1011):
Now judging how much time passed in-universe between those two events is hard to judge, but given that the characters haven’t visibly aged much it can’t be more than five years. So we have to assume that fully humanoid robots were introduced relatively recently. But that means May’s body can’t be more than five years old! And it’s already falling apart? Planned obsolescence is one thing, but when you’re talking about it for people’s bodies? That’s some evil capitalism going on there.
