Yeahhhh I’m not interested in SAB. Even the first year I was playing, I saw it and just thought “Uhhh doesn’t look fun for me in the slightest.” And I try it every year, because my friends talk me into it but. Tbh I’ve never enjoyed it. I just wish people didn’t find it so wild that SAB can be disliked or at least not fun for a handful of people

I definitely hear that and I think it’s possible there’s just a bit of apprehension on both sides of things, as there tends to be.

I’m also in the same boat as you in that I thought it was kind of quirky and creative and interesting as an April Fools thing, and played a bit, but I never found myself gripped or invested in it at all and every year I try and do a bit and just can’t find interest. 

But I also know I don’t want to rain on people’s fun so I keep it to casual, untagged asides like my last post and try to take it as a pinch of salt when people feel like their enjoyment is being threatened by someone else’s lack of direct enthusiasm, because I do know on the flipside (like @candle-girl mentioned) some people are very vocally salty about SAB and other people’s fun in general.

HONESTLY. THIS. ESPECIALLY LIGHT ARMOUR, I DIDN’T REALIZE HOW BAD IT WAS UNTIL I MADE LIKE 3 ELEMENTALISTS (bc i could) AND THERE WERE NO OPTIONS FOR ACTUAL PANTS (for the girls at least)

absolutely the same for me!!! sometimes i feel a little crappy at the game when i’m with my friends who are super into gw2, but it’s not something frequent at all... which is comforting haha

I actually got into the game because of a couple of friends of mine, who had both played the original Guild Wars back in the day (quite regularly, in fact). I still play with them regularly, and they’ve helped me get a few charas to 80 now.
