“ did you really have to be that honest? ” Whirl @ Vic

   The words break the small silence between them -- the silence that she caused when she called him out on his behavior. She adores Whirl -- he’s one of her favorite ... beings, but sometimes he can be too much. Sometimes he can go too far.

And she called him out this time.

Hand reaches out to gently touch his, not liking how ... sad and torn he sounded. It was a rare thing for him to act like this in front of others ... and every day, she thinks about the first time she saw him like this. He reminded her of ... well, her.

Whirl

   Bee is just going to stare at the other, trying to figure out a way to communicate with the other without using his general vague beeps. He knows the other likes ... memes. Yeah, that’ll work!

“ -- road work ahead? Yeah, I sure hope it does. ”

   Peter had planned this for weeks. It was his first official Valentine’s day with an actual partner ... so of course he worked hard on this. He decided that a joke gift would be a great way to make it ... not seem so serious. So he bought the dog tags -- the ones with ‘jerk’ and ‘punk’ on it, the ones they’ve made jokes about for a while. They use the nicknames for each other so it only fits to finally have something like that. They could match! Even though he’s ... not the biggest necklace person.

He also baked a cake -- because it’s Valentine’s Day, of course he’s going to bake his boyfriend a cake. Robbie’s favorite cake.

And last but not least, he made one of those coupon books. Coupons for hugs, kisses, cuddles, and other things are scattered throughout the book. He’s quite proud of this one ... especially since there’s a few in there for things not-so-safe-for-work.

Everything is ready, and Peter is ready to go, so he sets it in front of Robbie, a proud smile lighting up his face. He feels like he did a pretty good job!

Soundwave

   Peter stares up at the other -- face blank as he tries to figure out whether this guy was on of the good or bad guys, taking a step back. The silence ... speaks volumes and Peter can already tell that this one would murder him in the most violent way. They always say the quietest ones were the dangerous ones, right? Natasha was a perfect example of that. He knows that these guys can get pretty dangerous. He has to figure something out before he gets killed. A thought hits him and soon he’s pointing at him with the wrench that still lingered in his hand. So much for trying to be sneaky.

   He knew what he was doing was bad. He knew that stealing food from this convenience store was bad. But he needed to do this -- needed food. He hadn’t eaten anything in a few days and he deserved this, right? He could hear Sean scolding him in his head but he couldn’t think about his brother. He missed him ... But he was too dangerous. He could hurt him again and he wasn’t going to allow that. He just ... needed to get to his mom. All that money he took was going to that. But right now he was in some store, trying to get by without needing to use his money. Who knew if he could even get more if he needed it.

Glancing around, he made sure that no one was standing near him before he raised his hand, causing the cameras to short-circuit -- it provided the workers a distraction and he quickly scooped up the shopping basket, filled with food, and walked out the front of the store. “ -- .... that went smoother than I ... ” Voice trails off as he stares in front of him ; to the ... guy on fire in front of him. He wasn’t ON fire ... he WAS the fire. Hands loosen on the basket handles and it falls to the sidewalk in front of him, too distracted by this guy to care at the moment.

   It had been a long day for the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Two successfully stopped banked robberies, a stopped mugging, and a few rescued cats later,  he was chilling in one of the fire escapes near his apartment, scrolling through his phone as he ate on a cookie some kid gave him. He didn’t want to take it -- but the kid was stubborn and threatening to cry.

He hated to see kids cry...

He goes to take another bite out of is cookie when his Spidey-Senses start to tingle, the hero looking below him to the street -- just in time to dodge an incoming mail box. He locks eyes with the Not-So-Friendly Carnage on the sidewalk below and laughs.

   Peter knew that there was something ... about Robbie that he didn’t know. Ever since the start of their class, they were lab partners and sat beside each other. He had never really talked with the boy before that but soon they became close -- they liked a lot of the same things and lab was easy with a partner that you could get along with. Nothing was really strange until Robbie started coming in with bruises or black eyes. It worried Pete and he wondered if there was ... something going on at home. Or maybe he was being bullied? But there was something about the timing. It would be the same days that he would come in , recovering from a bad fight.

Sure, it could be coincidence. But a part of him knew that things couldn’t be that simple. As he watched Robbie walk into the lab this morning, a dark bruising along his eyed, he frowned. Pete knew that he had a dark bruise along his jaw -- something that was slowly fading but his fast healing sometimes had its moments. Robbie sat down and Pete rubbed at the back of his neck.
