Selina Kyle's past is murky, how she came into high society questionable. As her alter ego Catwoman, she started out as a cat burglar, and frequent adversary of Batman. However over the years, Selina grew closer to Bruce Wayne, and Catwoman slowly changed to become a frequent ally to Batman, eventually to the point where Bruce revealed himself to be Batman. They have had an on-off relationship ever since, both unable to fully trust the other as a result of their backgrounds and the way their relationship built. The picture above is a version of the Tim Sale Catwoman, which was iconic yet physcially impossible, while Jeph Loeb seems to understand Selina / Catwoman better than most writers.
