"Every beautiful daughter of the colony has six legs, so it is written that The Disturbance That Feeds must have six legs too. But I am a scientist! Each time the sky has rumbled and food has come from above (or Punishment as in the day of The Cleaning) I have trained my senses on What Comes From Above and I have counted! Each time only Five legs! Five! What heresy is this? I must write in secret, but I must write because it is what I have observed.
"On one day I was brave: climbed up on The Disturbance and aimed to cross her end to end. In this I discovered another thing: The Disturbance has no end. It is not a sky-sized creature, but much bigger than the sky. Where her gaster should have been is only an endless branch like the 'Trees' our elder queen has told us of as larvae. Perhaps The Disturbance is a tree? More heresy! I despair. Who will save this little ant? Do trees have six legs? They must. But then what is The Disturbance?"
I would like the share the peculiar results of test sample #18. The treatment group for this sample began walking on their two back legs. It seems I've stumbled upon a bipedal serum of sorts. Weird but not what I need. I continue my search.
breaking news: mad scientist attempts experimenting on ants - forgets ants are immune to micro radiation!

fav ant fact ? fav ant species ? fav thing abt ants ?
fav ant fact: my fav ant fact is probably that they have a designated place for their dead in their colonies and the whole "ants covered in death pheromone think they're dead and will get carried away until it wears off" thing
fav ant species: theres like 12 thousand so i dont have a favorite of all of them since i only know a handful. i guess i have the most personal connection with carpenter ants
fav thing about ants: we learn a lot from them. they live in colonies and they count their steps and they communicate and theyre social and they learn behaviors and they can live for like thirty years. its so cool to see an animal studied to the point where we can see ourselves in them, isnt it?
In a bid to replicate the mixture that Sherri Jr consumed that caused her to become freaking massive, I've narrowed down the specific chemical components I was mixing for my synthetic plant blood research that she might have licked. Some of my ants have generously volunteered to test mixture samples of varying ratios of those chemicals.
The treatment group of sample #1 seemed to grow hair on their heads. While I've found a promising hair growth serum, it's not what I'm looking for. Moving on.
