My friend Mam flew in Saturday a week ago, pretty early in the morning so his Sister Fanja and I woke up at 4am to pick him up at the Airport. it's been 15 years he hasn't been home and a lot of things changed since his last visit... On Saturday we went for a long weekend to a city called Anstirabe about 3 hours drive from Antananarivo with the whole Flawbush Family and relatives.
Anstirabe for the eastern weekend it's like going to Disneyland, it's simply kids and noise everywhere. Downtown Anstirabe was overcrowded with people, you couldn't even drive a car unless you like spending many hours in a car without cooling system. Maybe that is one of the reason why there is so many "Pouce-Pouce" ; these home built human engined 2 wheelers you can see on the following picture.

During this weekend Mam and I played with the kids, we all ate out at restaurants or the family member cooked their Malagasy specialties. Β We went horse riding to make the kids happy but honestly I'm not sure they had more fun riding a real horse instead of Tonton JΓ©rΓ΄me poor back. We also played Dominos, a classic game to play in Africa. The best time to play this game is when you have to wait for something to happen for a long time, when you wait on somebody, when you have to wait for no reason, when you wait that something happens or when you are bored. Okay, letβs just say itβs a fun game.Β Β

The day before leaving back to Tana we went to Mamβs family farm to have dinner with the farmers taking care of the plantation. We had a little fire to cook the chicken we bought earlier, took us a while to get the fire started but we had some help from the farmerβs girl that made it happen in about 2 minutes time, that was pretty embarassing for us 4 guys trying for 20 minutes. Mam and I wanted to see the sunset a bit further away from the house. take a look at it.Β
