doubts ⸻ ? “i dunno, i wouldn't say i have doubts…exactly.” & for the most part, he didn’t. he was more than content in life, surrounded by people that cared for him & he, in turn, cared for. working alongside his brother, always a plus, not to mention the days where he was able to branch off on his own & just explore, or try new things, meet new folks, yanno, the works. even still, luigi cannot deny that every once in a while, there’s a little voice in the back of his head that tells him he could have done faster, done better, been just a little bit braver.

if he had to put a name to those feelings ⸻ if he absolutely had to label them….more than anything, he’d say it was guilt.

“i just ⸻” at some point, luigi had started to idly fumble & pick at his fingers. an absent gesture to placate himself as he thought. “i” he starts, hesitates, & then with a shake of his head & a breath barrels on. “have ya ever looked at somethin’ and thought. i wanna get stronger?”

She'd been pretty hospitable to give him a bean bag chair in the middle of her floor after he'd limped in late with a few minor injuries courteous of the kremling gang he'd found trying to breech the border.
