anonymous-lemon I just used a really skinny brown eyeliner! It's more technique than what you use though, whether it's eyeliner or a flat brush with eyeshadow. Use small short strokes to build it up so it looks more like real hair, then brush through it with a spoolie or an eyebrow brush. If you just fill it all in, it'll look too cartoonish and flat.
