What’s the appeal of pup play? Is it a physicality thing or more of a mental thing?
The great thing about pup play is that it can mean different things to different people.
Some people love a good fun headspace to play around in, where they don’t have to worry about their usual problems and just get to be a goofy dog for a bit. Wrestling with another puppy over a squeaky toy can be fun and relaxing!
Some pups like to be trained, following orders from a handler, or purposely not following them and being disciplined, etc. This is closer to the original protocol based format of Old Guard kink, but it depends on the play partners involved how closely they stick to that.
For some pups it’s strictly a gear kink. They like the hood and other gear, such as cock sheaths, mitts, tails plugs, etc. combining it with other kinks like leather or rubber is quite fun. Sometimes having a good collection of gear is very satisfying. I know I love the kink gear collection I’ve built (and continue to build lol)
Some people enjoy it for the social aspect, going to social events and hanging out with other pups. I know several puppies who don’t really engage with the sexual aspect of it and just enjoy having a welcoming community to spend time with.
