I have no idea what number I’m actually on. I’ve been traveling these past two weeks which has left me exhausted. However, with classes starting next week I really need to get things started again. I bought a bunch of anthropological theory books this weekend at Powell’s in Portland and I can’t wait to get stuck in! I hope everyone feels prepared for this semester!

All I managed to do today was my daily GRE prep. So instead of showing you the laziness of today, I’m throwing it back to last semester when I was so easily motivated by my beautiful bay windows and the quickly approaching due dates of my thesis. I feel crazy for saying I miss the stress!

3 days into the new semester and I’m getting into the swing of things. Having to be at university from 7:30 to 5 has been a bit exhausting but I’m getting a lot of stuff done. Today I finished my first map for my GIS class. Didn’t run into any issues but everyone warns me that GIS is hell so we’ll see how the semester progresses!

I think I should give up any hope that my 100 days of productivity will ever be sequential, but while I haven’t been able to post, I have been very busy and productive working on my classes and applications. Additionally, I’ve been reading a chapter of this Gertrude Bell biography every morning and her tales of adventure and overall badassery is really motivating me toward my goals!

Now that the GRE is over, I’m planning to read a lot more articles and books I’m actually interested in again and kick my butt back into gear for this grad school search! 

Today I went to school with my mom for almost 8 hours which is twice what we usually manage this summer. Didn’t get much done as I found it hard to focus today. Managed to push through and get my GRE studying done as well as read two articles. It was nice to hang out in the print room with my mom all day and chat about all the plants and art she has in there!

Today I was accosted by the GRE for forgetting how to do basic math. I’m annoyed with myself that I got many of the questions wrong just because I didn’t read the prompts close enough. Also, I have completely forgotten algebra! The verbal area is going very well though, which is great. I just have to keep telling myself this is why you’re preparing ahead of time, because you do know it, it’s in your brain, you just haven’t stretched that muscle in four years.

The bad news of the mechanic telling me I needed new brakes when I took my car in today was offset by the fact that, even though I’m horrible at math, I’m still within the right range of GRE scores for my field!
