The cast of “Glee” will be helping fashionistas shop till they drop on Sept. 8 for this year’s Fashion’s Night Out event, to be held in stores across the country and online.

Sources told Page Six that “Glee” cast members will act as spokespersons for the worldwide shopping initiative spearheaded by Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour. During the event, participating stores offer special products, discounts and extend normal shopping hours.

“Glee” stars Lea Michele, Dianna Agron, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss and others will appear at retail locations from New York to Los Angeles, insiders said. For the first time this year, e-commerce sites, including Net-a-Porter, Shopbop and others, will also participate.

The partnership was brokered in part by Bee Shaffer, Wintour’s daughter. Shaffer is now an associate managing producer with Ryan Murphy Television, the LA-based production company of “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy, and sources said she in turn made the connection between the show and Vogue.

In Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, we start our story with the character Zelie, who is in a staff-fighting class with Mama Agba. Zelie tries to forget her past and ignore all the blows of the guards and all the “Maggot’s” they throw at her, but all she can see is her mother burnt and hung. 11 years ago (before our story takes place), all Orishan magic was slaughtered out of bloodlines, and any and all Maji, the ones who were blessed from birth by the gods, with curly white hair. Now, having the white hair of maji, or diviners, is a curse that affects the entire life of those who have white hair. But now Zelie will have the chance to fix all that was ruined when the cruel King killed her mother and took all that her people held dear. But she will have to risk everything, and face situations even more dangerous than those that come with simply being born with the diviners’ white hair. And it doesn’t help that she’s racing against time, and she finds herself growing attached to one of the enemy.

I ranked this book 5 stars because, overall, it was just a beautiful story. I found myself constantly on the edge of my seat, always wondering what was going to happen to the colorful cast and crew of this book. And the reason why this was was because I cared. I wanted the characters to be safe, and find love, and, in some cases, choose the good side, the side I was rooting for. Whenever a character was in a situation, it felt real, and you wanted to help them. At the end, I desperately wanted a sequel, and a series, and to know what had really happened to Zelie, and Amari, and Tzain, Inan, Roen, and all the rest. That’s what a good book should do- leave you wanting more, and Children of Blood and Bone fulfilled that desire. It helped that the book was beautifully descriptive, and I got a real feel for the world. But I have a feeling that there’s so much more to this world, and I was excited and anxious to see it. The last fourth or so of the book did feel a bit rushed, but the suspenseful ending made up for it. Overall, I think that this book was wonderful, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to anyone younger than middle school, or maybe even 7th or 8th grade (depending on how well you deal with slightly more mature concepts), but if you like mythology, fantasy, romance, adventure, or are just looking for a good book to read, I highly recommend this book.
