Ann Bartges is one of my all-time favorite people; she is an incredibly talented, humble, and insightful artist. I caught her between classes yesterday and asked if I could take a photo or two of her in her studio, where amazing things are always happening.
Ann's work comments on the role of technology in our lives. She wonders if the social media designed to keep people closer actually pushes them farther apart. Ann works with sculpture, performance, and projections to explore how digitally connecting (through Facebook, Skype etc.) can mediate our lives and affect our relationships.
