Farewell to Motion Pictures - さらば映画よ (1968) Read the play here. I am happy to finally announce Akenjo's 6th translation project is now complete and available to read! This time, I am offering the english translation of a stage play that was unfortunately not recorded, so the full annotated text is available in english! Farewell to Motion Pictures is a play split in two independent acts. "Fan" centers around two middle aged gay men who exchange philosophical ideas of identity and the way we sublime ourselves into others and into cinema. "Star" is about a middle-aged woman who always dreamed of becoming an actress and her inner world of illusions. If you're a Psycho-Pass fan, this is the play mentioned in season 1, episode 5. I hope you enjoy this play as much as I did, and I apologize for the delay.

Ankenjo's second translation project, Lemmings is a satirical stage play about the journey of two roommates who try to find a solution to the sudden disappearance of a wall in their apartment, just as the walls of reality crumble around them.

Ankenjo's first translation project back in 2023, Shintokumaru is a musical stage play about a cursed boy who would descend to the depths of the underworld to find his birth mother.

Ankenjo's fourth translation project, Nuhikun is an experimental stage play about the subversion of identity and hierarchical roles - as we nagivate deeper into an old mansion, we see the servants become masters, the masters become servants; the actors become characters, and the characters become actors.

Ankenjo's fifth translation project, Comet Ikeya tells a fictionalized story of the real astronomer Ikeya Kaoru when he discovered his first comet at 19 years old. At the same time a man had mysteriously disappeared, two neighbors wonder if there might be a connexion between the new comet and the missing businessman.

Ankenjo's fourth translation project (part 2), Cloud Cuckooland is another version of Nuhikun, an experimental stage play about the subversion of identity and hierarchical roles. Filmed in Amsterdam during its European run, it differs from the original performance with its unique theatrical technique, what Terayama called "secret room" theatre. Ankenjo's third translation project, 100 Years of Solitude is a loose adaptation of the novel of the same name by Gabriel García Márquez. The play follows the strange events that arise in a small, isolated village in the distant past.
