Bento from the grocery store! This is supposed to have half a day’s worth of vegetables. It’s basically a stirfry, but made with a thickened, starchy sauce called ankake. Good flavors, really tender squid, and very filling for only 400-odd calories.

Crabmeat Ankake; aud11.80 (large) from Hifumiya, Perth CBD. Comfort food - handmade udon noodles with shaved crabsticks’ meat (not real crabmeat), egg in a warm broth. One of the newer menu items at Hifumiya! Been here more than ten times since they’ve opened and I’ve only just realised they do a loyalty stamps card program thing.
