Location: A cove near the Ports
Time: Late Afternoon
She had always appreciated this cove. The jetties that sanctioned off the porting lanes had always created interesting swells. But that was in the mornings. In the late afternoons, it glassed off providing an ample backdrop for a lazy afternoon. Charlotte had set up a blanket and had her book in hand, lounging taking in the air.
She threw her head back, let the sun warm her as it glinted off the water. She looked out at the water. She was all alone.
She stood to approach the surf, glancing around to make sure she was well and truly alone. She was fairly sure she was. As her toes hit the sea something settled within her. The part of her that always craved the connection the sea offered.
She reached down tracing her finger in the water, letting the ocean ebb and flow around her. She coaxed a bit of water up, expanding it. Her magic inflating the particle until it turned into a bubble infused with salt. She giggled as she bounced it away and bending down to gather another.
A perfectly fine, solitary, refamiliarization with a cove she had missed.
