#animangaki 2017

So me and my friend Shin filmed a video of MHA cosplayers being silly at AMG and this all happened cause of that one scene in episode 1.

Hey guys! So this weekend was the time I did a con (Animangaki) and didn’t just wear a funny shirt. Went with a starfleet dress thing and on day 2 me and a friend went as Mabel and Dipper! Also met a really awesome Dany cosplayer.

Hey ho! Was over at AniManGaki during the weekend (19-20 Aug ‘17) and did a bunch of commissions! I’ll post them all eventually hahahah

These are my favourites and I had a lot of fun painting them (Princess Mononoke and the lovely couple who commissioned these) :D

For those not in the know AniManGaki 2017 took place at Sunway Pyramid last weekend (19-20 August) and boy was there a crowd! This convention honestly never fails to amaze every single year and I hope they keep growing!

So , this is my first time attending Animangaki . Animangaki is not really big as comic fiesta but it still has its hyped from japanese pop culture fans from malaysia. So its quite a real deal to many, i guess??

So my coarse mate/friend who is actually a cosplayer got me the early bird ticket which u can enter 9.30 am instead of 10.00 am normal ticket holders. By the time i reached there it was already 10.04 am , i think 

But anyways, my friend guided me to the convention center since i have never been to this venue which is a mall for soooooo many years & don’t remember a thing at all about the mall except its quite the rich people’s place. 

So, we entered the hall, my 1st impression was wow !!! the air con is so damn nice and cooling~~ Surprising the hall is very big but i think the arrangement for the event was just making to compact for people to go through .

We walked to doujin booth where all the artists were selling their goods and that’s where i also bought mine. 

My friend kinda sold some of her stuffs there at one of the booths there, but she said it was like 7 people sharing 1 booth to sell their goods. I bought her “birby”/birds set stickers which was the 1st thing i bought.

Next was the prints , i actually wanted the animals sets only(whale, cat, bird and rabbit) , who knows the artist thought i wanted 2 sets and i asked her to signed i found she signed both sets which includes the monsters set. But anyway never mind , i liked both of them so i just gotten both, i felt kinda bad to tell her i wanted 1 set. after she has signed each and every one of them. 

 Later on, i bought the beauty and the beast sticker set and the belle print, it was pretty and worth it too. 

Now here comes the main thing , i got to see the guest that they invited in person. It’s JOELLE!!!!!!!!!. 

OMG!!! i don’t know how much i can thanked the animangaki volunteers/crews/staffs eekkkkkkkk...... like really a big thank you from my love & heart & soul. BLESS ALL OF U!!!!! 

Here is how it went for me to meet Joelle:  

So, i went to her booth and her booth was very empty; like there were only a few crews sitting there, later i saw them placing her latest albums on the table and also they attached her signing session and concert which both sad to say for me , i can’t go due to my competition day on sunday..

So i thought it was bummer not to see her cause i actually brought gifts to give her and i was literally walking with it the entire day until i gave it to her. 

And then i told my friend about this and i asked the crews who were at her booth whether she will be coming to her booth today and they are like not sure but they wished good luck for my competition . 

My friend told me that she has friend who is handling the stage event performance and guests , so i went and find her friend who is cosplaying too and told her my entire situation and she is like not sure either, 

So, i asked my friend can sit near where the back door is located (where all the guests seemed to be coming from). And we sat there and watched a few singing competition and then this amazing violist who played beautifully like 15 minutes i think. 

After that, up comes Joelle to the stage and sat in the middle between the 2 emcees and she was talking about how she got involved with Sound horizon and also her  thoughts about Malaysia. 

After her interview, she started out to give away Japanese candies like in packets and not just 1 sweet only. And of coarse , the crowd were screaming till their lungs out to get the candy pack and I've tried but didn’t get it. 

Right away she stepped down the stage i immediately like rushed towards the staffs who were taking care of her like begging them can i passed the gifts to her, and take 1 photo and that’s it. (Bluff) 

The volunteers were so nice , they were like yeah yeah , sure . you wait for a while and Joelle was talking to her friends and the organizers . So i waited for awhile for her to talked finished to everyone. then it was my turn 

And when i met her, OMG!! i immediately just cry but not emotionally but just tears coming. She smiled and then i told her why i can’t attend her concert & and signing session 2moro. And i handed the goodie bag to her and she is like wow a big heart. And i asked can i take a photo and she immediately said yeah, and asked which one(camera), my friend was holding my phone and i pointed the white and looked at my phone to take a picture with me. eeekkkkkk.....

She shook my hand and i told her have a safe trip back to japan and she asked me what kind of competition i was having and i said water polo. She wished me Gambateh. Later than, i brought a fan art to let her signed.  

So later, i waved goodbye to her and the staffs there and immediately walked from the hall to go home because it was already evening.
