#SouthernRoots A Heavenly Dining Experience If you're traveling through Florida and want to get a glimpse of Americana at its best, take a trip through Palatka and stop in at Angel's Dining Car. With its claim to fame as being Florida's oldest diner, this unique culinary experience is Old-South-Small-Town heavenly eating. The diner's been serving up southern favorites like fried okra, fried green beans, frog legs and hand-breaded onion rings since 1932. And you can take the old south dining experience a step further by either eating inside the air-conditioned informal diner, or pulling up to the curb, giving a little honk, and getting a curb hop to come out and take your order so you can eat in your car. If you're not even sure where to find Palatka on the Florida map, it's located in north central Florida, about an hour east of Gainesville. It's a regular stop and a landmark for many traveling to the beaches of Jacksonville, St. Augustine or Daytona. πΈ @cyndichamberssports β’β’ β’β’ β’β’ #angelsdiner #palatka #oldsouth #ontheroadagain #tellingstoriesthroughpictures #throughthelens #food #smalltown @southernlivingmag #simplepleasures #southerncooking #southernfood #thesouth #florida #angelsdiningcar (at Angel's Dining Car)
