Zuko x Katara - My #1 OTP!! I will write you a fucking novel on why Zutara was the ONLY LOGICAL endgame and how Bryke RUINED THE PERFECT SHOW with their war-prize-Katara Katang ending. Then I will beat you to death with that novel, resurrect your corpse and do it again. And if you’re still not convinced, I’ll bust out my animation training and point out the EXACT moment in the finale where you can see that fake ass ending was TACTED ON! Canon my ass. A:TLA ends right after Zuko’s speech with Aang and that bullshit scene with Man & Zuko was spliced in between. Proper sequence: Aang fights Fire Lord Ozai -> Aang defeats Fire Lord Ozai -> Zuko becomes new Fire Lord -> Zuko gives speech -> THE END.

23. Exhausted parents kiss for Cullen/Rory, coming up!

“Maker’s breath, does she ever stop?”

Rory looked blearily over at Cullen from where she was pacing with Alys. This was the fourth time they’d been roused from sleep in a single night, the joys of having a child quickly being overtaken by mild frustration and a desire to give her to someone else for a night just so they could get some sleep. Cullen had tried to go back to sleep when Rory had risen to comfort the screaming baby, but that cry was impossible sleep through. His daughter certainly had a strident voice.

“She’ll … get tired eventually?” Rory suggested, stifling a yawn behind her hand as she jostled the baby girl on her shoulder. At this rate, she was going to walk a groove into the floor before Alys hit six months.

“You’ve barely slept these past weeks, sweeting.”

Cullen sighed, throwing back the blankets to drag himself out of bed. His legs felt leaden, he was that tired, but Rory was just as sleep-deprived as he was. More so, in fact - she’d been doing this for six weeks already entirely on her own. 

“Hand her over,” he told his wife, opening his hands to take the squirming bundle of bad temper that was their firstborn into his arms. “Go back to bed.”

She offered him a weary smile, one hand on Alys’ back as he propped the sobbing baby against his shoulder. “Are you sure?”

Cullen leaned down, brushing a kiss to her forehead. “I’m certain,” he told her. “You need to sleep, sweeting.”

“So do you,” she pointed out. “You’re a bit more important than I am, love.”

“No one is more important than the two of you,” he countered, his own jaw cracking in an enormous yawn that made her laugh drowsily.

His lips tugged into a wry smile, caught between annoyance at the piercing cry by his ear and familiar fondness at the way Rory leaned into him, too tired even to go back to bed, it seemed. Her head tilted back, smiling lips seeking his in a soft, tender kiss that he felt himself melt wearily into. Adamant seemed a world away in this moment, back at home with his wife and child, and no amount of unrepentant screaming was going to remove the sheer joy of being able to hold both of them at once.

Though the sooner Alys learned to moderate her volume, the better.
