To make up for the missed chocolate, here’s some mashed beans with fried sausage Transylvanian-style, doused with a sweet malty Italian 6 Luppoli red bock from Angelo Poretti. It’s a pretty good trade and you get pickles too. Enjoy!
Angelo Poretti’s Tre Luppoli (Picked up at a Bennet in Italy). A 2 of 4. Actually somewhat distinctive from the other pale lagers on this trip, with far less carbonation than others and is quite a bit sweeter. Not much in the way of hop notes, and this gets a bit cloying given the lower carbonation and bready malt character.
Angelo Poretti 6 Bock Rossa (Picked up at a Bennet in Italy). A 2 of 4. Smells of toffee and some candy sweetness with some dark sugar qualities. Incredibly thin body with essentially no lacing, and drinks very easily. On the sweet side of things with some weird complexity to the sweetness as it warms. A definite change of pace from a light lager, but still a very lackluster beer.
