I could hear them outside... I was worried about Paige, I even went looking for her... But to be honest, I already knew she was going to be fine...
When the shiny metal people turned on the humans, I saw them from out the window. I was sunbathing on the sill and looking out over the busy streets of the Worker’s district when their screws went loose.
I was worried, but I wasn’t afraid of losing Paige. Why would I be? She’s the strongest lady I know. Well, okay, she’s the only lady I know. Or, okay, she’s the only lady I know as well as I know Paige. Does that make sense?
Oh no... I think I’ve gotten Paige’s terrible confusion habit. She always tends to do this.
I’ve never met someone who could explain anything so poorly. Paige truly does make an art out of it. The way she speaks, it’s almost like bad poetry!
But it’s beautiful, and I know that because she’s beautiful. I love her so much! She’s smart, just like her grandfather was.Â
I used to watch her stay up all night, just tinkering away. I could always tell that she did this to make her grandfather proud. And she could have been antsy or upset because she didn’t see instant improvements to her talent, but...Â
No, Paige would never be like that. Instead, she pushed on. She made something of herself and she took every failure as a lesson and every achievement as a reward.Â
Paige lacks a certain sense of... Grace? I suppose that’s the right word to use. She always seems so lost. But I can’t blame her. She grew up in the jungles where not a soul resided.Â
I know that Paige always seemed content, living there with her grandfather and I... But then, I could always sense loneliness when I looked into her eyes. The want to meet other people.Â
I have to wonder how she feels right now, seeing all the people in Grand Ivorglen go through this absolute massacre. She was so excited to see all these people when we first arrived. And now they’re all gone...Â
I hope she gets back soon... Paige, please be safe...Â
