Controlling Your Aura - Your Personal Line of Defense
These techniques I found when I first started embracing and exploring my empathy in my freshmen year of high school. I believe I found most -if not all of them- on the same website, but I can't remember what site it was. The website was for empaths, and it can be helpful to ANYONE, angels and elementals alike. If I ever find it again, I'll be sure to post the link. What many people don't know is that their aura can be a strong line of defense against harmful beings. Often times, those who do know this don't know how to control their aura or don't know any tricks to make it easier. First thing you need to do to learn how to control your aura is meditate. If you have a hard time with meditation, follow the instructions listed below. Meditating: Keep in mind that meditating is different for everybody. I have listed here the easiest way for me to meditate. Feel free to play with it to find a method that works best for you! -Focus on a color that calms you. It doesn't have to be your favorite color. My favorite colors are red, pink, and black, yet I usually meditate while focusing on a soft blue. The color you choose should make you feel calm, peaceful, and safe. Make sure the color feels natural to you!! -Focus on your breathing. Breath in.........breath out. You want to breath slowly, almost as if you are sleeping. Let your breathing calm you. Feel the air moving in and out of your body. Relax into it. -Focus on good feelings. You do want to make sure that you keep the feelings of peace and security steady in your meditation. These feelings make you feel more comfortable as you meditate and can make your aura stronger as a defensive tool. --If you ever feel like your mind is "blocked off", remember that you are not trying to access anything within your mind. This meditation is more outward than inward, and honestly, the only part of my mind I need when controlling my aura is creativity. Good control over your aura comes from peace within yourself. The technique I showed you here is designed to help you relax and feel at peace, as those are often the biggest issues people run into when trying to meditate. Experimenting with Your Aura: Once you have relaxed enough, your aura should feel "pliable". A lot of people picture their aura as something moldable, bendable, or free-flowing. To me, my aura is this abstract thing, kinda just air floating around me that I can turn into different things. I know someone who pictures their aura as water, which is a good, free-flowing image that can help with controlling your aura. I also know someone who pictures their aura as hot metal, which is moldable and bendable and also a good image to have when controlling your aura. Picture your aura as anything you want! The visualization will help when shifting it into something defensive (or shifting it into anything really). Mirroring: Do you ever feel like the energy and emotions of those around you are just influencing you too much? Tired of feeling overwhelmed when in social situations? Mirroring is the aura-controlling technique that will help in these situations!! Basically, this technique turns your aura into a mirror that surrounds you. Think of it as a one-way mirror. The inside is a window. You get to look out at the people around you. The outside is a mirror. The people around you can't look in because they'll see a reflection. (Of course, your aura doesn't really become visible, this is just a visualization.) What this does is allow you to be in social situations without the emotions of those around you influencing you. The mirror keeps the energies from coming in the aura to you. It's like when you point a flashlight at a mirror. The light bounces off the mirror and back to you. Well, it's the same thing with energy. The energy will bounce off your aura. This technique can also make you less noticeable in social situations. Also, you might sometimes find that those around you when you are mirroring will take on some of your mannerisms!! (Kind of turning the tables a bit.) -Okay, first you want to meditate. This is the best way of relaxing while becoming aware of your aura around you. -Once you feel your aura is pliable, picture it as a mirror. You can picture it as a mirrored ball around you, as a bunch of mirrors surrounding you, etc. Whatever works for you and feels most natural, go for it! -Feel how the other energies leave you as you turn your aura into a mirror. Feel how open you feel once they leave, how free your own energy is. Focus on this and keep the mirror up. -Don't sweat it. If you don't get it at first, that's okay! Remember, practice makes perfect! Also, keep in mind that visualization is key. Basically, your aura is an outward expression of what you visualize it to be. You want to remember to remain relaxed and calm when doing this. It's nothing to stress about. You are controlling it, you go at your own pace. Shielding: Just like how mirroring was turning your aura into a mirror, this is turning your aura into a shield. This technique, however, I feel is more abstract because your shield can literally be made out of anything you want! You like trees, imagine strong redwoods surrounding you, keeping you safe from all harm. You like history, imagine a structure similar to the Great Wall of China surrounding you. When I say that your shield can be anything, I mean ANYTHING! When I first learned how to do this, I pictured a bunch of crosses surrounding me. It made me feel safer whenever demons or other harmful beings were around. -First thing's first, you gotta mediate. Keep that relaxation going! -Now, feel your aura around you. Feel the absolute strength you can draw from it. Feel how it moves and bends as you create your shield. Remember, you want something strong that will keep harmful energies out while keeping intact the calmness inside where you are. For visualization purposes, I will use the example of redwoods. Feel the strong trees grow around you, their branches covering you. Nothing can breach them. The redwoods are strong. They will not let anything harm you. They are unbreakable. They are powerful. You are protected. You are safe. -Keep the feeling of strength going in your shield. Keep calmness inside the shield. Again, don't sweat it!! These techniques are a good start to learning how to turn your aura into a strong line of defense (and honestly, I find these to be the most useful).
