I love how Shiemi's face is initially kept hidden by her Saio's garb as she keeps denigrating herself, to illustrate how her true feelings are hidden...

...until Rin asks her to remove it, so she can finally speaks her truth and mentions her fears.

Also the mutual "I hate this flaw of yours" was very good writing, because Rin and Shiemi haven't actually been 100% honest with each other since basically ch83.

So this mutual confrontation helps them facing each other once more, bringing them back on the same level, one on which they see eye to eye :)

Thus that's why Shiemi could finally confess back to Rin. :D
