As a drama teacher, writer and director I have seen A LOT of theatre in my life (I'd guess a show a month on average) and I can confidently say that As You Like It by the Pop Up Globe is the BEST thing I have ever seen in my life and certainly my most favourite. We were so worried about standing for the almost 3 hours, but being so close to the action and really in the thick of things was the perfect way to have the full experience. (Plus the tickets were only 20 bucks each!) We laughed (constantly) cried, interacted with cast, got teeth spat on us, felt completely immersed and were truly overwhelmed. The performance really felt like what it would have back in the Shakespearean era, with the hilarity of the physical comedy, the brilliant innuendo, the incredible venue and the exquisite all male cast. Jane agrees and said that it shat on anything she has seen at the Globe or the Swan in London. 😂 The season has been extended to mid January.
