I would think that anyone who has ever wanted new technology has either felt tricked or deceived at least once in their life. It can be a hard lesson to learn, but it is a necessary one. A modern example of this is something like Google TV, which has ads that show people transferring their videos from their tablet to their television. What they don’t show you us that you simply cannot use any video you like – it must come from specific sources like YouTube. I wonder how many people fell for that trick. With MIDI controllers, the same type of thing happens when you learn that you cannot do what you want to do with it. Hopefully software advancements will be able to change all this so that we not limited by our physical hardware.
