Ni/er: Auto/mata hits so close to home for us, being very similar to things we experienced, exploring themes that are so painfully relevant to us, and dynamics that echo familiarity. As combat dolls on both sides of a senseless war waged in the name of 'humanity', trapped in a seemingly endless loop of fighting, death, rebirth. The realization that the enemy we claimed were senseless, mass produced machines had feelings of their own. That they were growing right alongside us. Struggling with burgeoning sentience when the world screams 'you're a machine, a doll, a tool', and that the mission is paramount to all. "we are what we were made to be, but can we be something more" A Tactical Doll and the San/gvis, a YoR/HA and the machines. All of us becoming something more than the programming and parts within us. Maybe. Wouldn't that be nice? Just got my mind on it, is all. We're watching the new anime, and it's hitting me right in the 'combat robot girl' place, haha.
