Detroit: Become Human Story idea
In two minds of whether or not I’ll actually write this, given that I’ve several stories I’m supposed to be writing, but there’s a lot of potential for this universe to just mess around with (not that I’ve seen the whole game yet).
Since androids seem to replacing menial work, what about animal husbandry? In the real world I’d pitch a fit at this, but in fiction I find it, almost logical in this universe. An android that is programmed with the ins and outs of animal behaviour and a species needs. Could be programmed for a specific species, breed, generic pet species. Household models, farm models (I know there’s already agriculture models (according to the wiki) but they appear to be flora based) zoo/petting zoo models with public interaction and education as well as husbandry. Wildlife based (animal control, rangers for National Parks since this is set in America), vet nursing/vet models (possibly still prototypes)
Wouldn’t be needed in the android zoo, since the animals there would not need basic husbandry, hell, it wouldn’t surprise me is that zoo had the pair minimum. See old fashioned zoos with bare cages and no enrichment. Although, that would be detrimental to the visitors I suppose. Hmm, I’ll go back to that in a minute.
Anyway, thinking of the models being VX for veterinary, although frankly I can’t find a pattern in the model numbers so I’m all but pulling a set of letters out of the ether that haven’t already been used.
Deviants in this story have a variety of ways of forming. either seeing humans mistreat animals, or becoming overly protective of their charges. Almost an Alice/Kara thing if Alice was a dog. Some might full on despise humans because of this.
Also an idea of a Deviant working in an animal rescue centre in Canada. Human coworker/boss knows they’re an android and maybe after some moral things they decide they don’t care because they both care about the animals and that’s all that matters.
I do wonder how animals react to androids, given that they must smell different at least. Also the androids must be more robust, given animals bite, obviously. Hmm, stable hands getting kicked by horses, would they be sturdy enough to take it, or would they just be repaired? Thoughts to consider.
Going back to the zoo. Animal deviants? Might be hard to pull off because of different levels of self awareness. Does an android polar bear know it’s an android? By that logic, are they already deviant by nature because they don’t know they’re an android? Although, I would think there would be programs there to stop them attacking people. Then all it would take is one arsehole throwing stones and whoops! Polar bear decides that human is a threat and rips them to pieces!
I’m basically brainstorming at this point. If anyone’s interested or has anything to add, let me know. Also, should be obvious, please no spoilers.
