Last nights basic watercolor tutorial/practice
I didn't have a white wax stick for the resistance swatch si I used yellow... not sure how often I will use that anyway.

Damn it is so COLD!!! I am hoping the pond de-icer is still working. I can't tell because it is under 10 inches of snow.
HA! These are some rough looking stars. I know it's a sketchbook, but still. Maybe I will do better next time or completely steer clear from drawing stars. On a different front, I am thinking about attaching a condenser lens to my 4x5 camera. I saw it done in a video months ago and remembered I had an old lens in a bin in the basement... now to figure out the mounting method. It should not be to hard....
another watercolor project. This one was fun.... if or when I do it again I will make the background a darker more saturated color. One of the things that was done was sprinkle salt of the painted area while it was wet....
Mom's birthday was pretty good. She ate really good, and didn't try to wander around.
Still struggling with sleep. Last night the wind was howling, my mind was full of stupid shit... this evening I will try a hard workout... maybe that will help.
I can definitely tell when I am having a steady day vrs a shaky day. More so in the writing. I have had tremors for a very long time... it's good that they aren't worse... but frustrating when they get bad. Bad is really when I can't even carry coffee in an open mug, and have to switch to a travel mug with a top.
Some days its hard not to get down about it... and I don't mean funky get down...lol
A bit warmer today... feels like 6 already.
More otter like? Maybe it was the rounder head and red ribbon around the last ones neck that made it more teddy bear like. I think I will try with gray next time too maybe ears tighter to the head?
This weekend is Icefest here in Chambersburg. It's cold and clear... great for ice fest usually it's snowing, raining , warm

This evenings watercolor... looks more like a teddy bear instead of an otter. Cute nonetheless. I should get moving on Valentines cards for the grandchildren...

Good morning my friends. Cold outside, my fingers hurt from just filling bird feeder. Spilled my coffee going down stairs to work. Got it wiped up, glad I didn't drop my ceramic mug.
I did get my parents driveway blown out.. and one of their neighbors too. They all have short single car width drives so its literally maybe 8-10 passes ... that heavy crap from the plows is the most tedious part.
This is one of the 2 sketch book exercises from my snow day... I don't do exactly what she does but not today far off. I think it was more about the concept of layering the watercolor.
Another dragon eye... I think she called it a rainbow dragon eye. Anyway, for some reason I started pulling the tape and it pulled the top of the paper along with it. I am going to run to the store later and get a heat gun. As I understand that will help release the tape. It could be my tape is ancient and just isn't going to cooperate. Cold dog walk this morning, cold hands, reminds me I also need to get some new cycling gloves. Hope you all have a great weekend, Don't know what we will get into, well other that the usual grocery store trip. Maybe I will get a bike ride or start winterizing the pond... which means wading in and cutting out all the pickleweed and lilies.
