It had been probably half a century since Martha had made a trip to Italy.....and she’d never been to this particular city before that she could recall. It was nice...a little odd but nice. 

She pushed her mane of black and white curls away from her face as she walked down to the beach, resting her hands on the back of her neck.

Martha was kind of off in her own little world until she spotted the young boy, who she vaguely recognized from seeing bickering with an older local boy earlier in the day. She hadn’t stuck around so she wasn’t sure what it was about but whoever the older one was looked like some of the men she used to know, and who she couldn’t stand.

    “    Yeah, yeah -- get over here with your grumpiness. ”    Alberto wasn’t entirely wrong though, Gabriele enjoyed the feeling of the other’s hair brushing through his fingers!     They were just so soft!    Not to mention he loved the shape,    it seems like Alberto attempted to style a pompadour on himself  ..   but he honestly just looked like a funny looking eggplant.

          the  little  boy  wasn’t  dressed  for  the  beach.    yes  ,    he  wore  shorts  ,    but  his  fancy  shoes  and  turtleneck  were  signifiers  that  he  wasn’t  supposed  to  BE  HERE  right  now.    he  didn’t  even  look  like  he  knew  where  he  was.    ercole  knew  this  was  portorosso  ,    but  it  looked  different  ,    and  he  couldn’t  find  his  grandma  !    he  wanted  to  cry  ――  but  he  didn’t  want  to  get  in  trouble  for  it.      big    boys    don’t    cry.
