World Lore- The Anderrans
Anderra (Kan-La to the natives) is most likely the last place in the universe you'd ever expect to find life- but it exists. And it is deadly.
The Anderrans take on a rather peculiar physiology. Due to the volcanic landscape of their homeworld, the Anderrans have evolved from a reptilian-like species that is capable of withstanding the harsh environment they are born into. Anderrans are known to be a "savage" race, and have little in the way of interplanetary politics and planet colonization.
The Anderrans are tribal in nature, with hundreds of clans spread over the main continent of Pannamor, ranging from hundreds per clan to thousands. It is not uncommon to see these clans at war, fighting for resources, land, and mating partners. It is not unheard of for Anderrans to kidnap other alien women and take them as slaves or partners. Some tribes sees these aliens as "exotic" or as a "prize". Some of the Clover Clouds' biggest slave trades are run by certain Anderran clans.
You would also be hard-pressed to find an alien out there who is willing to speak with an Anderran on Kan-La, however. While Anderrans are mostly noted by scholars as having a peculiar government and economic system, it is the diet of the Anderrans that is most irregular and off-putting. Anderrans are known to have survived feasting off the blood of other creatures.
The lack of vegetation and variety of species of Anderrans to consume has led to a rather mortifying evolutionary adaptation- Fangs that allow for the drinking of blood from other Anderrans or smaller creatures they capture in the wild. This allows them to gather nutrients they need to survive, and cannot get elsewhere on Kan-La. Because of the reliance on blood, the Anderrans are known to consider blood a very sacred part of their culture, leading to cults and clans that follow practices involving consuming their enemies and raiding tribes specifically for the purpose of drinking blood of their victims.
Besides these gruesome details and practices of the Anderrans, not much else is understood. This may be due to the limited contact outsiders have had with the Anderrans, as well as the hundreds of tribes that subscribe to different rituals and practices that are not fully understood.
