i must give credit to the archival nature of the internet for allowing me to relive the most desperate age of my adolescence via a very carefully curated playlist, the music of which would have otherwise (and gladly) never again crossed my mind
i think it necessary to honor that iteration of me by listening to it the way i had intended, as aware as i am of the at times dangerous capability of music to vividly transport oneself through oneβs life
whilst iβm surprised by the staying power of these melodies in my mind despite the years of distance between us, my psyche is focused most on a troubled feeling of dread and nostalgia coexisting in my stomach
how can music make you feel the same despair it once helped you live through?
