My grandfather has an ornamental concrete business, okay? So there’s a sales yard by the office wrapped by a chain link fence (most everything out there is over forty pounds so who the hell is going to steal it?!) with one entry gate. So this morning I get a call and pictures from my uncle: There are sheep outside.

Eight sheep, two of them are rams with the curly horns and everything, and because sheep are model herd mammals that move together in a fluffy flock of unity, somehow my uncle moved them from the parking lot to the sales yard and closed the fence. Penning the sheep.

There’s grass and a little pond out there and a lot of shade so they’ll be fine until the owner comes to collect them.

In the mean time the nosy little old lady across the street hobbled over with her little hand dog on her hip and has been asking all kinds of questions about, “When did you get sheep?”
