I knew it. I knew I was right to keep being cautious about claims of Spider's adoption, no matter if it was Empire Magazine writers calling Spider "Jake's adopted son" or if it was people on the internet saying Jake saying "son for a son" = adoption. I knew that was too simple. No actual proof of adoption, just vibes. After A2 promos lying about it I just couldn't believe it without evidence. And I was right. Here comes confirmation straight from Cameron's mouth (from production notes):

I knew it. Neytiri didn't agree to it. Spider didn't wear the white stripe. And they were going to just ship him to High Camp all alone. "He is not part of the family."

It might be "not yet" but for now this is where we are.

No wonder Quaritch, who is a horrible person but likes Spider just the way he is, doesn't try to change him and shows he cares about Spider more than his goals, makes Spider feel conflicted. It sucks when the only person who accepts you is abhorrent in every other way.

Racing is best when it's competitive and not artificial. Losing 2s over a lap to enable better competition and allow for more driver impact, is not something people are going to be upset about if the racing is good.

Media is acting like we're the problem and that speed is the only requirement, but if it were, more people would be watching Indycar and motoGP. Not that those are not brilliant series on their own, but they both have higher top speeds compared to the last F1 regs. So if speed was the only requirement, both of those would be bigger than F1. But they are not. Because F1 is its entity and people are attracted to it for a variety of reasons, most prominently the competition, the skill, and the intensity of it. Speed is only a small factor of that.

Give us racing that the drivers love. Give us engineering to marvel at. Give us a spectacle of humans pushing themselves to their absolute limits. Give us overtakes that take guts to do. Let that be the spectacle. Nobody cares about the amount of overtakes unless the race is boring and nothing is happening.

F1 set their goals like a businessman sets their quarterly targets. But they lost the humanity and the passion behind it. They saw a number to hit and said it was "good" when that happened, but there was no concern for the quality of product they were sending out to the public.
