alright y’all i finally watched wonder woman last night!!! i have thoughts as usual
here like the two things that bugged me the most
aries
david thewlis is a fantastic actor but when the switch happened, he was just not believable as aries. i personally think that they should’ve gotten someone who could better capture him in his human and god form
it bothered me that ares killed all the gods for not agreeing on him. not saying that’s it’s not something that would happen but i’m really loved the idea that the gods are still very much here. also i’m super attached of the diana being born from clay origin. i think that her sneaking out after the fight she had with her and mom and then the gods appearing to her as different forms of animals would’ve been great and them being dead takes away from that. (but maybe a sequel could expose that as being a lie. u know how messy the gods are)
the third act
so.... i didn’t hate the third act but it wasn’t executed as well as it could’ve been. it was doing a lot in not the greatest wayÂ
it kinda bothers me that steve dying was trigger for her rage fit and her realizing that it’s love that she’ll choose over whatever kinda of hate aries had. and that’s not because i don’t think what they had was super special (because it really was), but moreso that it felt like it was ONLY steve she felt in the flashbacks and not her sisters or the people she saved. but like it’s not diana’s fault. i mostly blame the movie for not fleshing out themyscira and the amazons more as much as they did for her dedication to helping mankind. because they weren’t just people she lived with, they were her sisters, educators, her family, (in a perfect world where they were comfortable with diana being bi) her lovers.... women she’s know her whole life. and i know she probably took that in consideration as well but i felt like it shouldn’t have been a footnote or a thing u had to assume
the cgi was a lot. it wasn’t bad but it was a lot but i’m letting it go because i know gal was pregnant then
there are other things like: i think gal was okay acting wise and chris brought the best parts out in her (like her reactions to antopie’s death was something) and maybe not enough etta, and again not enough themyscira/amazons but it was good. i think a sequel could be fantastic and really the ending monologue was really really great. maybe making diana bi in the second one too. but yes i enjoyed and i’m happy she finally got her movie
i love greg rucka’s diana so much.
Wonder Woman movie trailer cured my depression and brought me back to life
but olivia’s investment in making ella happy and ella’s childhood full of rainbowmemories is reallllyyyyy important to me. like, it’s for ella, but it’s also for rachel. ‘cause ef, their childhoods were hell

Virgil flat out refused, father. He had just been knighted, he said. He said he won’t abandon his post, and that he was more use to Damocles with a sword than his wit and he wasn’t ashamed to admit it. *Oh it had been rather glorious to hear Virgil say such a thing, especially so soon after Rick’s own defiance.* Father said something about ‘family honor’ and he said he didn’t think banishing you from court was an honorable thing to do.
